They Call Me Mad Dog by Erika Lopez
More madness/genius from Mrs. Lopez, as she calls herself now, according to her web site. This time she goes to jail, sort of, after revenge on an asshole ex goes hopelessly awry. Great illustrations, too, and the pages are numbered in the style of the automatic stamper used by editorial assistants everywhere on manuscripts, which is pretty funny, as she is currently in some sort of war with her publishing company, which you can also read about at her website. Go, Mad Dog!
Billy Liar dir. John Schlesinger
Basically a slacker-can't leave-home movie except it takes place in 1963 England not 1992 Austin, or whatever, so everyone looks really old-fashioned and, for the most part, cool and there's an actual score as opposed to a bunch of 30 second snippets from songs by Soundgarden sound-alikes. OK, all bullshit aside, it's really good and really sad. Really.
